If you hear suspect noises while using the brakes or have
noise coming from the brakes while riding have your disc
brakes looked after.
Checking the brake pads (of both the front and rear wheel) for wear
is done as follows:
1 . A pin with a split end is keeping the brake pads in position.
Use pliers to remove this pin (see image 40 ).
2 . Take out the brake pads (see image 40 for removal of the
brake pads at the rear wheel) and check them for wear. If
the friction material is less than 1 mm the pads should be
replaced.
For replacement of the pads contact your Urban Arrow dealer.

8 . 2 . 5 Gear adjustment

Over time the cable between the grip and the gear hub will lengthen
slightly, this is normal wear. A slack cable might affect the quality of
operation of the gear system.
Checking for cable slack is done as follows:
1 . Pull lightly on one of the two cable housings at the grip
shifter. It doesn't matter which one of the two, they are
connected internally.
2 . Notice if there is any slack (see 'S' in image 41 ):
a . Slack 'S' less than 0.5 mm is not enough.
2
Too little cable slack results in heavy shifting and damage to
the shifter. Check the next alinea for information on how to
increase the cable slack.
b . Slack 'S' between 0.5 – 1.5 mm is perfect.
c . Slack 'S' over 1.5 mm is too much.
2
Too much cable slack may cause decreased shift performance
and shift cable durability. Check the next alinea for
information on how to reduce the cable slack.
