Failure to unplug the mains
cord in an appropriate way
may lead to damage.
■ When using the vacuum
cleaner, always pull out the
mains cord completely to
the yellow marker.
■ Never pull the mains cord
out beyond the red marker.
Pulling the cord out further
can damage the cable reel.

1. Pull the mains cord (13) out
until the yellow marking (28) is
visible on it.
If the red marking (29) is visi-
ble, the mains cord (13) has
been pulled out too far. Allow
the mains cord (13) to retract
slightly (see "General customer
service" on page EN-31).
2. Insert the mains plug (13) into
a properly installed socket.
3. Use your foot to step on the
On-Off foot switch/suction
force control unit (10) to switch
the appliance on.
4. To vacuum, push and pull the
nozzle across the surface you
are vacuuming. Rotate the
telescopic tube handle (16)
slightly to reach corners more
effectively. This positions the
nozzle diagonally.
In rare cases this can make
a whistling noise initially.
This is not a malfunction and stops
after a while.
