Safety information

3.1

General safety guidelines

► Only use the product for its intended purpose, see intended use.
► Do not use a damaged or defective product. Sort out damaged product immediately or return to service.
► Only operate and use the product and accessories by persons who have the necessary training, knowledge or experience.
The following target groups are addressed in these operating instructions:
Operators: Operators have been instructed in the operation of the drive and follow the safety regulations.

Service personnel: The service personnel are technically trained and carry out maintenance work.
•
Installers: Installers must be instructed on a regular basis in all aspects of work safety and environmental protection especial-
•
ly those pertaining to pressure bearing piping system.
► Regularly instruct personnel in all applicable questions of the locally applicable regulations for occupational safety, environ-
mental protection and in particular for pressurized pipelines.
► Ensure that personnel know, understand and observe the operating instructions and the information contained therein.
► Observe the operating instructions. It is an integral part of these instructions.
► Take precautions against electrostatic influences.
3.2

Due care required of the operator

This product was designed and manufactured with consideration to the respective harmonized European standards. It corresponds
to the latest technology and the technical data/features.
Safety on the job can, however, only be realized if the operator warrants that
► the instruction manual has been read and understood and that the instructions contained therein are adhered to.
► Stay alert! Watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a tool.
► Use personal protective equipment and always wear eye protection. The use of protective equipment such as a dust mask, non-
skid safety shoes, a hard hat or hearing protection, depending on the tool and its use will reduce personal injuries.
► Wear appropriate clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts.
Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can get caught by moving parts.
3.3

Safety in the work area

Keep your work area clean and well lit. Working in cluttered or dark areas can easily lead to accidents. Prevent the tool from
unintentional movement or dropping and assume a secure foothold.
3.4

Tool usage and care

► Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp and clean blades do not get stuck as easily and
are easier to handle during operation.
► The blade is subject to wear. Keep the pipe end peeler RSE clean and dry in the transport box!
► Keep your tools clean. Follow the servicing instructions and the instructions for changing the tools. Keep oil and grease away
from all parts.
► Care for your tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect
the operation of the tools. If damaged, have the tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained tools.
► Use the tool, accessories etc. in accordance with these instructions. Take the working conditions and the work to be performed
into account. The use of the tool for applications differing from the application scope could result in a hazardous situation.
► The thickness of the peeling must be checked with a suitable measuring instrument on a regular basis.
