Read carefully indications given on p.
43 (MAINTENANCE).
Clean and check air cleaner every month
or every 6,000 km (3750 mi), depending
on use conditions.
If the vehicle is ridden on dusty or muddy
roads, clean and replace the air cleaner at
shorter intervals.
Remove the filtering element to clean it.

REMOVING THE AIR CLEANER

Raise the vehicle onto its center stand.
◆
Remove the rear case, see p. 60 (RE-
MOVING THE REAR CASE).
◆
Undo the four screws (1) and remove the
air cleaner cover (2).
◆
Remove the filtering element (3).
When reassembling the air cleaner, en-
sure that the filtering element (3), the
filter cover (2) and the seal (4) are cor-
rectly seated

WARNING
Do not use petrol or any other flamma-
ble solvents to clean the filtering ele-
ment or fire or explosions may occur.
◆
Clean the filtering element (3) with fresh
non-flammable solvents having a high
volatility point and dry thoroughly.
◆
Apply filter oil all over.
