GENERAL NOTES

Please observe the notes in these operating instructions as well as
the service conditions and permissible data which are specifi ed in
the data sheet, in order that the devices will function fl awlessly and
remain operable for a long time. On non-observance of these notes
and unauthorized interference with the device, we will refuse all
liability and the guarantee on device and accessories will become
void! The MFC Type 8712 serves exclusively to control the mass
fl ow of gases; the MFM Type 8702 serves exclusively to measure
the mass fl ow of gases. Any other use or use exceeding the specifi c
scope is considered to be non-intended use. Bürkert will not be
liable for any damage resulting therefrom. The risk will be borne
solely by the user.
The Quickstart leafl et is a supplement to the Operating
Instructions. More detailed information is to be found in
the Operating Instructions on the enclosed CD.

Observe the requirements of EN 100 015
- 1 in order to minimize the possibility of, or
avoid, damage from instantaneous electro-
static discharge. Also take care not to touch
components that are under supply voltage.
Intended use
Use as intended includes, in particular, adequate medi-
um quality. Media that are heavily contaminated or con-
tain particulates are detrimental to precision; if liquid
phases enter the sensor chamber, the function of the
sensor and the MFC / MFM may be impaired. In these
cases, a suitable maintenance unit (fi lter, liquid separator)
must be installed upstream of the MFC / MFM.
