4 Assembly Instructions

Unqualified repairs or operations on the
hardware or software or the failure to observe
the warnings in these instructions or
warnings placed on the product itself could
lead to personal injury or damage to
equipment.
Qualified personnel are:
– Project personnel, familiar with the safety
regulations of automation systems and
electrical engineering.
– Operators, instructed in the use of the
equipment and having knowledge of the
relevant operational parts of this
documentation.
– Commissioning personnel, authorized
to set electric circuits and machines/
systems into operation, ground and mark
them, according to the accepted rules of
safety and current technology.
Repairs and replacement of parts carried out
by the user are his own responsibility. After
repairing or replacing parts, all prescribed
functional and safety checks must be carried
out.

4 Assembly Instructions
The module is inserted into the system
component KE31x.
A maximum of 1 SMdev interface module can
be used in one tightening system and,
therefore, in a KE31x.

Take care that the interface module is
completely inserted.
The front knurled bolts must be tightened.
Please take care that the front blind fits close-
ly to KE31x.
The power is supplied directly to the interface
module by the KE31x communication unit.

Before inserting the
Rexroth interface
modules, the BT 300
card rack or the
SB301/SB305/
SBH301 system
boxes must have been
voltage-free for at least
3 min.
