other devices and walls. The distance
upwards must be at least 100 cm.
There must be no flammable objects
(e.g. curtains, paper, etc.) in close prox-
imity to the device during operation.
• Select a location which complies with
the safety instructions.
• Select a location where people, animals
or plants are not in the immediate prox-
imity.
• Figure D: the device must always be

when it is switched on.

6. Operation

NOTE: When operated for the first time,
place the device in a well-ventilated room
for 2 hours and leave it running at the high-
est heating level to release any smell of oil
that may have been left behind during man-
ufacture. Please make sure that the room in
which the device is located is sufficiently
ventilated during this process. Besides, it is
quite normal for the device to make soft
cracking noises when operated for the first
time.

6.1 Connecting the device

1. Where necessary, set the main switch 6
to OFF and the thermostat control 7 all
the way down to MIN.
2. Insert the mains plug into an earthed
wall socket corresponding to the techni-
cal data.
NOTE: the device requires up to 10 amps of
current (2,000 watt). If you have connected
other consumers to the same electrical cir-
cuit, ensure that the maximum capacity of
22 GB
the fuse is not exceeded, as the fuse will oth-
erwise be tripped.
6.2 Switching the device on/
off and selecting heat
output
The main switch 6 allows you to switch the
device on at two settings, and switch it off
again:
OFF Device is switched off
Setting 1 (low heat output): de-

vice operates at 1,000 watt
Setting 2 (high heat output): de-
2
vice operates at 2,000 watt
• Switch the device on by setting the main
switch 6 to the desired setting (1 or 2) .
The control light 8 lights up.
• In order to completely switch off the de-
vice, set the thermostat control 7 all the
way down to MIN and then set the
main switch 6 to OFF. The control
light 8 goes out.

6.3 Setting the thermostat

1. Set the thermostat control 7 all the way
down to MIN.
2. Set the main switch 6 to the desired set-
ting (1 or 2). The control light 8 lights
up.
3. Set the thermostat control 7 to MAX.
The device heats up.
4. Wait until a pleasant room temperature
has been reached.
5. Now turn the thermostat control 7 slow-
ly towards MIN until you hear a click.
6. Leave the thermostat control 7 in this po-
sition. The device now switches on and
off automatically in order to maintain
the set room temperature.
