IN USE
It is recommended that you replace your helmet within 5 years from date of manufacture dependent on the
environment and conditions of use. The key factors for a helmets 'in use' life are exposure to external force,
chemicals and Ultraviolet (UV) radiation. In the event of physical or chemical damage the helmet should be replaced
immediately. When fitted, the 3M™ UVicator™ can help you to identify when to change your helmet as a result of
exposure to UV radiation.
^ The 3M™ UVicator™ and the helmet must be equally exposed to light. The 3M™ UVicator™ disc must
not be covered by stickers or removed from the helmet.
Electrically Insulating Helmets
The double triangle marking on the helmet indicates that this helmet is electrically insulated and approved according
to EN50365:2002 for use in low voltage installations up to a nominal value of 1000Vac. The electrically insulating
helmet cannot be used alone, it is necessary to use other insulating protective equipment according to the risks
involved in the work. The user has to check that the electrical limits of the helmets correspond to the nominal voltage
that it is likely to encounter during use. Insulating helmets should not be used in situations where there is a risk which
could partially reduce its insulating properties. Ageing, inappropriate cleaning, and use outside of conditions given in
this user instruction may limit the effectiveness of this product. The conditions of storage are an important factor for
the conservation of electrical and mechanical performance of insulating helmets. When not in use it is recommended
that the helmet should be stored in a suitable container in the range of 20±15 °C. If the helmet becomes dirty or
contaminated, particularly the external surface, it should be cleaned in accordance with the instructions below.

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

The helmet, head harness and sweatband should be cleaned regularly using a mild solution of detergent in warm
water. For cleaning, maintenance or disinfection, use only substances that have no adverse effect on the helmet and
are not known to be likely to have any adverse effect upon the wearer, when applied in accordance with the
manufacturer's instructions and information.

STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION

Do not store the safety helmet in direct sunlight or at high temperatures. When not in use, it should be stored in a
cool, dark location to prevent the material from ageing. Store in a suitable container to prevent compression. The
original packaging is suitable for transporting the product throughout the European Union.
