Reinigung, Desinfektion,
Pflege und Sterilisation
Bei der Gassterilisation mit Ethylenoxid sind we -
gen der Gasaufnahme der Werkstoffe folgende
Auslüftzeiten der Instrumente zu beachten:

(Mindestzeit bei einfacher Klarsichtverpackung
und einer Anwendungsdauer am Patienten von
mehr als 30 Minuten).
Die maximal zulässigen Werte (gemäß 21 CFR
812.100; US-Bundesanzeiger Band 43, Nr. 122
vom 23. Juni 1978) für Rückstände nach der
EtO-Sterilisation sind folgende:
Ethylenoxid:
25 ppm* / 250 ppm**
Ethylenchlorohydrin:
25 ppm* / 250 ppm**
Ethylenglycol:
250 ppm* / 5000 ppm**
** für Instrumente die mit Haut und Schleimhaut,
* für Instrumente die mit Blut in Kontakt kommen.
Bei Sterilisation mit Formaldehyd oder bei Plas -
ma-Sterilisation sind die Instrumente nach Ablauf
des Sterilisationszyklus sofort anwendbar. Eine
zusätzliche Auslüftungszeit ist nicht notwendig.
Beachten Sie, dass es bei Plasmasterilisation
Ein schränkungen bzgl. der Lumengröße und des
Materials im Hinblick auf die Instrumente gibt, die
mit STERRAD
®
sterilisiert werden können.
Eine Aussage über die Effizienz der Sterilisation
am jeweiligen Instrumententyp (in Abhängigkeit
von Länge und Durchmesser der Lumina) kann
nur vom Hersteller des Sterilisationsgerätes ge -
geben werden.
Warnung: Die Sterilität ist nur gewähr-
leistet, wenn die Herstellerangaben für
das STERRAD

Verfahren befolgt wer den.
Warnung: Alle Abweichungen von den für
das System STERRAD

empfohlenen
Sterilisationsparametern müssen vom
Anwender validiert werden.
Vorsicht: Die Hinweise zur Aufbereitung,
Sterilisation und Aufbewahrung in der
Anleitung „Reinigung, Sterilisation und
Pflege von KARL STORZ Instrumenten"
müssen beachtet werden. Dort sind die
Verfahren zur Reinigung, Desinfektion
und Sterilisation im Detail erklärt.
Cleaning, care, disinfection
and sterilization
For gas sterilization with ethylene oxide, the
following airing times must be observed for
instruments due to gas absorption of the
materials:
at 20°C
at 42°C

Maximum acceptable levels (per 21 CFR
812.100; Federal Register, Vol. 43, No. 122,
June 23 1978) of residues following EtO steril -
ization are as follows:
Ethylene oxide:
25 ppm* / 250 ppm**
Ethylene chlorohydrine:
25 ppm* / 250 ppm**
Ethylene glycol:
250 ppm* / 5000 ppm**
** for instruments in contact with skin and mucous
membrane,
* for instruments in contact with blood.
The instruments can be used immediately after
sterilization with formaldehyde or plasma steril -
ization. Extra airing time is not necessary.
Remember if you use plasma sterilization that
there are limits regarding the size of the lumen
and material in regard to instruments which may
be sterilized using STERRAD
®
.
Statements as to the efficiency of sterilization for
the respective type of instrument (depending on
the length and diameter of the lumina) may only
be made by the manufacturer.
Warning: Sterility is only assured if the
manufacturer's instructions for the
STERRAD
®
procedure are followed.
Warning: All deviations from the sterili -
zation parameters recommended for the
STERRAD
®
system must be validated by
the user.
Caution: Attention must be paid to the
information on preperation, sterilization
and storage in the "Cleaning, sterilization
and care of KARL STORZ instruments"
instructions. The methods for cleaning,
disinfection and sterilization are
explained there in detail.
Limpieza, conservación,
desinfección y esterilización
En la esterilización por gas con óxido de etileno,
debido a la absorción de gas por parte de las
materias primas, deben respetarse los siguientes
tiempos de aireación de los instrumentos:

Están permitidos los siguientes límites máximos (se -

después de la esterilización con óxido de etileno:

En el caso de esterilización con formaldehído o con
esterilización por plasma, los instrumentos pueden
emplearse inmediatamente después de concluído el
ciclo de esterilización. No es necesario observar un
período adicional de aireamiento.
Le rogamos tener en cuenta que existen restriccio-
nes en la esterilización por plasma con respecto al
tamaño del lumen y al material de los instrumentos
que pueden esterilizarse con STERRAD
®
.
Una declaración acerca de la eficiencia de la esteri-
lización en cada uno de los tipos de instrumentos
(dependiendo de la longitud y el diámetro del lu -
men) sólo puede ser emitida por el fabricante del
aparato de esterilización.
Cuidado: La esterilización sólo estará ga -
rantizada si se han seguido las instruccio-
nes del fabricante para el procedimiento
STERRAD
®
.
Cuidado: Todas las divergencias con res -
pecto a los parámetros de esterilización re -
comendados para el sistema STERRAD
han de ser validados por el usuario.
Advertencia: Deben observarse las indica -
ciones para preparación, esterilización y
almacenamiento contenidas en la Instruc -
ción " Limpieza, esterilización y conserva-
ción de los instrumentos KAR L STORZ " . Allí
se ex plican detalladamente los procedi-
mientos para limpieza, desinfección y esteri-
lización.
