5 FIRST USE

5.1 Charging the battery

1 Your portable digital radio has a built-in rechargeable battery. Before using your radio for the first time, you
must charge the battery. This takes about 5 hours. After a full charge, your radio can be used continuously for
up to 10 hours.
2 Connect the micro-USB end of the charging cable to the micro-USB socket on the left side of the radio (under
the cover).
3 Plug the other end of the charging cable into a computer or USB charger.
The radio display switches on, "Welcome to Digital Radio" is displayed, and your radio switches to standby mode
with a time display.
4 Pull out the telescopic antenna to create optimal reception conditions when the radio searches for stations.
5 Slide the power switch on the right to ON. Your radio will automatically start searching for DAB+ radio stations.
When the scan is complete, briefly press the Menu button until the charge status of the battery is displayed.
NOTE!
If the battery is completely discharged and you start a charging process with the included charging cable, it can take
about 1 minute before the radio switches on and the charge status of the battery is displayed.
As soon as the battery is fully charged, the message "Charge Full" appears on the display.

5.2 Adjust volume

Use the + or - buttons on the top of the radio to increase or decrease the volume. Press
and hold the + or - button to increase or decrease the volume gradually.

5.3 Time and date

The first time you listen to a station via DAB+, the time and date of your product in
24-hour mode are automatically synchronised with the programme broadcast by the
DAB+ service. This always corresponds to the current time, so the time and date do not
have to be set manually. To set the time and date manually, turn on the radio and do the
following:
1 Hold the Menu button to enter menu options.
2 Use the ◂ or ▸ button to go to the menu item System - Settings.
Press the Select button.
3 Select the entry [Time] in the submenu with the buttons ◂ ▸ and press the Select button.
4 Use the buttons to select ◂ ▸ the line 'Time / Date' and press the Select button.
Set Time / Date is displayed. Press Select button again.
5 The first digits (hours) of the time flash and can be changed using the ◂ ▸ buttons.
The ▸ button increases the value, the ◂ button decreases the value.
6 Press the Select buttonto apply the setting.
The next digits (minutes) of the time then flash and can also be changed as described above.
