Do not apply bipolar electrosurgical current
directly to staples or clips.
Precautions
Inspect the sterile package carefully. Do not
use if:
• the package or seal appears damaged,
• contents appear damaged, or
• the expiry date has passed.
The tips are for single use only. Do not reuse.
Resterilization of the tips by any method could
cause a malfunction, resulting in patient injury
or death. Do not use the tips if they have been
resterilized by any means.
Use sterile technique in all phases of handling
this product.
Do not use ISOCOOL Bipolar Forceps at
generator power settings that exceed peak-to-
peak RF voltage of 500 Volts.
When using the CODMAN MALIS
® ®
CMC -V Bipolar Electrosurgical Generator
®
or the generator of the MALIS Bipolar
®
Electrosurgical System CMC -III, the
®
maximum allowable power settings are as
follows.
Coagulation:
90 Malis Units (25 Watts) = 500 Volts
Cutting:
60 Malis Units (20 Watts) = 500 Volts
For other generators, refer to the operator's
manual to determine the maximum allowable
power settings.
Activating the electrosurgical unit
simultaneously with the aspiration/irrigation
might alter the path of electrical energy away
from the tissue.
Use only with the following bipolar cords
available from Integra.
