5.2
Venting of emergency closing unit
When "venting" the emergency closing unit, any air in the lower pressure chamber is pressed into the upper reservoir chamber.
The procedure is as follows:
solenoid valve de-energized (switched off)
Vent the system by moving the actuator to the "OPEN" position. Move the actuator upwards by hand until the valve
spindle is moved. (Pressure chamber at the bottom completely emptied).
Move the actuator down. (Pressure chamber fills with hydraulic oil).
Repeat points 2 to 3 twice.

Checking the oil level in the emergency closing unit
The oil level only can be checked when the closing unit is in the vertical position.
It is essential to maintain the air cushion as shown in the sectional diagram so that the thermal expansion of the oil filling,
or the change in volume is compensated for. Never completely fill with oil!
Sequence for ST6151:
1.
Move the actuator to the "OPEN" position
2.
Release the emergency closing device (solenoid valve "OPEN")
3.
Open screw for max. oil level
4.
Oil level must reach the threaded edge of the breather screw
Sequence for ST6152:
1.
Move the actuator to the "OPEN" position
2.
Release the emergency closing device (solenoid valve "OPEN")
3.
open the lateral screw on the top cover
4.
solenoid valve "CLOSED"
5.
move actuator 15 mm in closed direction
6.
oil level must reach the vent screw
7.
after the check, put the emergency closing unit back into operation as described for commissioning

Repair / Change of components
6.1
Replacing the bellows seal
The bellows seal forms a unit with the plug. When replacing the bellows seal, always replace the plug group. Therefore, the flat
gaskets (503) for the valve are always required for replacement.
• Depressurize the valve and drain the pipelines according to regulations.
• To replace the bellows seal, the actuator must be removed (refer to the operating instructions of the respective
actuator).
• Two-way (globe) and diverting valves: remove the bonnet (201) from the body (101)
mixing valves: remove B-flange (601) of body (101)
• Remove safety stuffing box (441)
• Open screw (451) and set screw (449)
• Remove plug assembly (300)
• Remove gasket (444) and clean gasket sealing surface
• Insert new plug assembly (300) and new gasket (444) into the valve, secure against rotation using the set screw (449)
• Screw the new safety packing (441) onto the thread
• Clean the sealing surfaces on the housing (101)
