GENU SLEEVE
The Genu sleeve is fabricated using the special seamless round-knit technology and is extremely f lexible. This
allows for very good adaptation to human legs and guarantees a virtually wrinkle-free fit.
The coating on the inside ensures an air-tight joint between the socket and the user's skin and thus secures the
prosthesis.
The interaction between the highly flexible knit and the thin coating gives high freedom of movement.
The Genu sleeve is only for use with prostheses for the lower limbs. It serves to provide adhesion between the
residual limb and/or the Liner and the prosthesis.
In addition, the Protector included in the package extends the life of the Genu sleeve. It is pulled over the edge of
the socket and is worn under the Genu sleeve.
General indications for the Genu sleeve
• Holding function
• Secures the prosthesis
• Minimisation of piston movements thanks to vacuum adhesion
General contraindications
• Circulatory disorders (use only after consulting the attending doctor)
• Open wounds

The size of the included Protector is indicated on the Protector's sewn-in label. The sizes correspond to the sizes
of the Genu sleeve.
Donning the Genu sleeve
• Pull the Protector with the adhesive strap downwards over the socket (Fig. 3)
• Pull the Genu sleeve over the socket edge to the comfort zone (visibly bulging section in the middle of the
suspension sleeve - Fig. 2). (Fig. 4/5)
• Turn the suspension sleeve and the protector and slide the turned section downwards over the socket. (Fig. 6)
• The patient pulls on the liner with a slightly bent knee joint (Fig. 5) and then gets into the socket (Fig. 7/8).
• After getting into the prosthesis, the Protector and the suspension sleeve must be slid over the liner to the
user's skin with as wrinkle-free and as tension-free as possible. (Fig. 9-11)
• The suspension sleeve should be put on with the knee slightly flexed (slightly bent) to avoid pressure peaks on
the patella.
