3.2. Instructions for safe operation

No liquid fuels may be used for kindling and heating! It is also forbidden to burn any plastics, wooden materials
with various chemical binders (chipboard, etc.), as well as household waste, etc.
The appliance may only be operated by adults! Never leave children near the heater unattended. The surface of
the heater is hot, especially glass surfaces, and touching them can cause severe burns.
Operation of fireplace inserts requires occasional maintenance and supervision. It is necessary to use protective
gloves with CE certification (included in the delivery) for safe operation of the regulators and for handling the
door locks. Take extra care when handling and removing hot ash, as there is a risk of burns. Hot ash must not
come into contact with flammable objects – e.g. when emptying into municipal waste containers. The fireplace
must always be closed, except for stoking, to prevent flue gases from getting into the room; the appliance is not
intended to be operated open. Before opening the door, it is recommended to deactivate other vacuum ventila-
tion devices, e.g. hood, ventilation system, etc.
Caution: The insert may only be operated in accordance with this Manual. It is not permitted to make any modi-
fications to the appliance that are not approved by the manufacturer in writing.
4. INSTALLATION OF FIREPLACE INSERTS AND THEIR CONNECTION TO
THE CHIMNEY
Caution: All local regulations must be observed when installing fireplace inserts, including regulations relating to
national and European standards for this type of appliance. The installation of a fireplace insert and its connection
to the chimney flue must be discussed in advance with a professional chimney company. It is recommended to
entrust the enclosure and installation of the fireplace insert to a professional stove company. When connecting
the fireplace insert to the chimney flue, it is necessary to ensure the flue (pipes) can be reached for cleaning, e.g.
via a removable part of the enclosure in the area of the fireplace insert flue. It is recommended to notify the com-
pany performing the installation of the insert and its enclosure to this requirement. Fireplace inserts may only be
placed in rooms and places where there are no risks in terms of location, construction conditions and use. There
must be no electrical wiring in the walls and ceilings at the place of installation of the fireplace insert. There must
be a sufficient supply of air for combustion in the room with a fireplace insert.
4.1. Connecting the insert to the chimney or chimney liner
The connection of fireplace inserts to the chimney flue may be performed only with the consent of a professional
chimney company in accordance with ČSN 73 4201, or according to valid regulations for this type of appliances
in the countries where they are installed.
To ensure the correct function of the insert, it is necessary that the recommended draught of the chimney in the
flue pipe is guaranteed.
The minimum draught for the respective appliance type is always given in the Technical Information. Insufficient
chimney draught causes the appliance to not perform sufficiently, excessive staining of the glass and excessive
clogging of the flue. The total heat output of the insert is reduced. If the chimney does not have good draught
conditions when stoking, flue gases may get into the room. For this reason, regular inspections by a professional
chimney company according to ČSN 734201:2010 as well as regular maintenance of the heater are recommended.
If the chimney draught is too high and exceeds 20 Pa, it is advisable to install a suitable chimney damper (e.g.
smoke pipe with a flap), or a chimney draught regulator. Too much chimney draught can be a source of problems
during operation, such as excessive combustion, high fuel consumption, and it can also lead to permanent da-
mage of the heater.
4.2. Connecting the insert to the chimney flue
It is recommended to connect the fireplace insert to a separate chimney flue. The appliance may only be conne-
cted to a common chimney flue when observing the provisions of ČSN 73 4201. The appliance cannot be conne-
cted to a common flue with a gas appliance. The smallest recommended effective height of the chimney flue is
5 m. In individual cases, it is possible to connect the appliance to a chimney flue with an effective height of less
than 5 m if it is proven by calculation of the flue gas duct (according to chapter 5 of the standard) that this height
is sufficient for the connected appliance.
4.3. Instructions for installation and setting of the flue
Connect the outlet to the chimney in the shortest possible way so that the length of the flue gas duct is not longer
than 1.5 m. Tightly connect the flue pipes and the elbow with an overlap of at least 50 mm and make sure that the
joints are always assembled in accordance with the flue gas flow. Provide the chimney inlet with a metal shrunk
