Recording the displayed measured value
The thermometer can record the displayed measured value, to make it easier to read the dis-
play.
Press the „H/T" key (5) during the measurement. The reading is recorded and the „HOLD" sym-
bol flashes.
Press the „H/T" key again, to switch back to the normal measuring mode.
Setting Temperature Limits
It is possible with the thermometer to set an upper (HI) and a lower (LO) temperature limit. If the
upper limit is exceeded, or the temperature falls below the lower limit, a alarm tone is sounded
every minute, until the temperature is within the limit values again.
The two alarm levels can be set, either simultaneously or separately. The alarm levels are delet-
ed as soon as the device is switched off.
To set the upper alarm level, proceed as follows:
Switch the thermometer on.
Hold the „HI AL" key (6), until the correct alarm value is displayed. Release the key. The active
HI alarm is indicated by the „HI" symbol.
To set the lower alarm level, proceed as follows:
Switch the thermometer on.
Hold the „LO AL" key (8), until the correct alarm value is displayed. Release the key. The active
LO alarm is indicated by the „LOW" symbol.
Make sure that the two alarm levels do not overlap. Note that the HI alarm value
may not be lower than the LO alarm value and the LO alarm value may not be high-
er than the HI alarm value. An overlap causes a malfunction of the alarm control.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Except for an occasional battery change the unit is completely maintenance-free.
Use a soft, damp cloth or a brush to clean the device. In case of heavy soiling, the device can
be rinsed under running water. Never immerse the display unit.
Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions since these might damage the sur-
face of the casing or impair the operation. Clean the probe thoroughly before using it on food.
Disposal
Electronic products are raw material and do not belong in the household waste.
When the device has reached the end of its service life, please dispose of it,
according to the current statutory requirements, at your local collecting site.
Disposal in the domestic waste is not permitted!
Disposal of flat batteries/rechargeable batteries!
As a consumer you are required (Battery Ordinance) to responsibly dispose of all used bat-
teries and rechargeable batteries; do not dispose of used batteries in the household waste!
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols to
indicate that disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The symbols for the
relevant heavy metals are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead. You can
dispose of your used batteries free of charge at your community's collection point
or any place where batteries are sold!
You thus fulfil the legal requirements and make your contribution to protecting the environment!
