INSERTING/REPLACING THE BATTERY

• Open the battery compartment (2) on the rear.
• Insert a battery type AAA/Micro into the battery compartment with the correct polarity (note
positive/+ and negative/-).
• Replace the cover on so that it snaps in.
• Battery replacement is necessary when the display contrast sharply decreases or nothing is
displayed.
Due to the low power consumption in standby mode (timer is not running and there is
no sound output) no on/off switch is required.
If the product is not to be used for a while (e.g. storage for longer than 3 months),
remove the battery. That way you are preventing that a leaking battery (or a battery)
may cause damages.

OPERATION

a) Measuring using the puncture probe
Unwind the probe wiring and plug it into the connection socket (3). The long connecting
wire makes it possible that both, the puncture probe as well as the thermometer, can be
positioned optimally outside the oven.
Stick the tip of the puncture probe into the medium to be measured. Wait until the tempera-
ture display has stabilised and no longer (or minimally) changes.
If the measured value is lower than the measurement range, "Lo" is shown; if it is higher, "Hi"
is shown.
During measurement the puncture probe and the heat-resistant probe wire can
remain in the oven. The thermometer, however, must be used outside of the oven;
protect it from temperatures above +40 °C.
Make sure that the probe wire will not get damaged by sharp edges.
If the probe is used in an induction stove, it may inherently cause measurement and
temperature display to malfunction.
b) Setting the temperature limit for the temperature alarm
Set the desired temperature limit using the "UP" (6) or "DOWN" (7) buttons. For a quick
adjustment, press and hold down the corresponding button for a bit.
c) Switching on/off the temperature alarm
The slide switch "TEMP ALERT ON / OFF" (9) enables or disables the temperature alarm.
"ON"
temperature alarm on
"OFF"
temperature alarm off
If the temperature alarm is switched on, the thermometer will beep when the set temperature
value is exceeded.
d) Setting/resetting the countdown-timer
• The hours of the timer are adjusted with the "HR" button (4); the minutes with the "MIN"
button (5).
For a quick adjustment, press and hold down the corresponding button for a bit.
• The set timing can be cleared and reset to "0:00:00" by pressing both, the "HR" button (4)
and "MIN" button (5), simultaneously.
The timer can only be set/reset when the timer is stopped.
e) Start/Pause/Resume of the Countdown Timer
• The Timer is started/stopped/resumed with the "START/STOP" (10) button.
• When the Countdown-Timer has counted down (at "0:00:00"), an alarm signal sounds. The
time then resumes on the display.
To stop the alarm and reset the timer to the set time, press the "START/STOP" button (10)
briefly.
f) Toggling between the temperature units °C/°F
Using the slide switch (14) on the rear, you can toggle between the temperature unit °C
(degrees Celsius) and °F (degrees Fahrenheit).
g) Using the magnetic holder
The thermometer can be attached to an appropriate metal surface through the two built-in
magnets (11 + 13) located on the rear.
h) Adjusting the folding display
The folding display allows for custom adjustment of the LCD for better reading. Do not apply
force, when adjusting; the folding display can only be titled forward/up at an angle of up to
70°.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

The product does not require any maintenance apart from occasional replacement of the
battery, and should never be disassembled for any reason.
Clean the product carefully, e.g. with a soft, clean cloth. Do not press too hard on the display;
this can lead not only to scratches but also to the destruction of the display.
A soft cloth wetted with water and a mild cleaning agent can be used to clean the puncture
probe.
Do not dip the thermometer in or under water. Do not clean the thermometer in a
dish washer.
This will destroy the product and void the warranty!
Never use aggressive cleaning agents and no chemicals at all for cleaning; these can lead
not only to discolouration, but can also damage the product.
DISPOSAL
a) General
Electronic devices are recyclable material and do not belong with household waste.
Please dispose of the device, when it is no longer of use, according to current statu-
tory requirements.
Remove a loaded battery or rechargeable battery and dispose of it separately from
the product.
b) Batteries and rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Regulation) to return used batteries and
rechargeable batteries. Do not dispose of used batteries in the household waste!
Single-use/rechargeable batteries containing hazardous substances are labelled
with this symbol to indicate that disposal in household waste is forbidden.
You can return single-use/rechargeable batteries free of charge at official collection
points in your municipality, our stores, or wherever (rechargeable) batteries are
sold!
You thereby fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environ-
ment.
