Operating the FSA system software

You can operate the FSA system software using the
function keys and buttons on the PC keyboard, the USB
mouse or the remote control.

Please note that:
$
the keyboard must always be connected to the
PS2 socket of the remote control receiver.
$
the channel setting must always be configured
first before operating the remote control (see 1
689 979 936).
The <ESC>, <F1> to <F12> function keys are hardkeys
and softkeys:

Hardkeys (<ESC>, <F1>, <F10>, <F11> and <F12>)
are keys with permanent functions. These keys re‑
tain the same functions in all program steps.
R
Softkeys (<F2> to <F9>) are keys with alternating
functions. The functions for these keys change de‑
pending on the selected test step. The softkeys are
described in the Online Help.

If a hardkey or softkey is "greyed out" in a program
step, it has no function.
R
You can select hardkeys and softkeys using the
mouse, keyboard or remote control.
Information on how to operate the FSA system software
is available in the Online Help.
List of keys and hard keys on the keyboard and remote control
Function
Display online help for corresponding test step.
End current measurement or program.
Change from any Bosch application to the
DSA, diagnostics software selection.
You can use the DSA to call up the various Bosch applications and enter customer data, for
example.
One step back.
One step forward or confirmation of data.
Move to other buttons, registers or input boxes.
Move within a button, a register or a list box,
a register or a list field.
Prints out a copy of the current screen display on a protocol printer at any point in the pro‑
gram.

1. Right click.
2. Select "Print".

Speed symbols

When measuring engine speed, the FSA system software
selects the best speed source automatically.
The selected speed source is displayed in the status bar
on the screen.
