9 Maintenance and cleaning
NOTICE
• Take appropriate precautions before conducting maintenance and cleaning work.
• Maintenance and cleaning work must only be carried out on the extraction system in areas with locally filtered forced
ventilation.
• Only qualified personnel are permitted to perform work on the device or system.
• Check and wear your personal protective equipment.
9.1 Inspection intervals
We recommend splitting cleaning into two parts. The first part involves emptying the dust from the collecting drawer.
Regularly emptying out the dust can extend the service life of the filter cartridge. The second part involves the electrical and
mechanical maintenance of the filter system. The maintenance cycle is determined by the work environment and by the length
of the scheduled intervals between maintenance of the devices. The maintenance cycle is usually three months.
If the device is operated for more than 8 hours a day, the maintenance intervals should be changed as needed. Regular
maintenance keeps the device in good visual condition and good working order.
NOTICE
• The specified maintenance intervals are standard values and refer to single-shift operation.
• We recommend recording the inspections. The date of the inspection, the detected defects and the name of the
inspector must be recorded.
9.2 Replacing the turbines

1 Use the device On/Off switch (4) to switch off the welding fume extraction system. (Fig. 5).
2 Pull out the mains plug (no Fig.).
3 Open the clamps on the sides and use the handle to lift off the upper section of the extraction system.
4 Undo the screws and remove the cover.

5 Loosen the screws and remove the cover (no Fig.)
6 Loosen the turbine clamps and electrical connection, then remove the turbines.
7 Dispose of the turbines in accordance with local regulations (no Fig.).

8 Insert the new turbines, attach the turbine clamps and establish an electrical connection (no Fig.).
9 Reverse the steps above to reassemble the system (no Fig.).
