3. Clean the power base, power cord, and exterior of the kettle using a slightly
damp cloth that does not drip. Thereafter, wipe dry all parts.

We recommend the Gastroback Premium Descaler (Art.- No.: 98175), containing
special additives for preserving the metal surfaces thus maintaining high performance
of our machines. Mix the descaling solution according to the instructions on the
package. Alternatively, you may use a solution of 800 ml plain vinegar and 900 ml
water.
1. Fill the descaling solution up to the "1700 ml/MAX" filling line into the kettle.
Close the lid. Leave the descaler within the kettle for at least 1 hour. With large
amounts of lime on the heating plate, leave the kettle standing overnight.
2. Empty the kettle and thoroughly rinse the interior with clear tap water until the
odour of descaler is gone.
3. Fill the kettle up to the "1700 ml/MAX" filling line with clear tap water and let
the kettle heat the water to the boil (see: 'Operation'). After automatic shut-off,
discard the water and rinse the interior of the kettle again.
4. Repeat the complete procedure, if there are still lime deposits on the heating
plate.
