power supply or in reach of children younger than 8 years and animals.
For avoiding the build-up of algae and/or germs on the surfaces, clean and descale
the appliance and all its parts before storing the appliance for an elongated period
of time (see: 'Care and Cleaning'). Do not hold the appliance at the power cord for
moving the appliance. Do not move the power base with the kettle standing on it.
The power cord may be wound loosely around the cord storage at the bottom of
the power base. The power cord may never be knotted, twisted, pulled, strained
or squeezed.
Place the appliance and its parts on a stable surface, where it is protected against
inadmissible strain (e.g. mechanical or electric shock, dirt, frost, direct sunlight). Do
not place any hard or heavy objects on or in the appliance or any part of it.
Do not use any parts of the appliance for any other appliance or for any purpose
that is not described in these instructions.

NOTES FOR DISPOSAL

Do not dispose of electrical appliances as unsorted municipal waste. Dis-
pose of the appliance and packaging must be effected in accordance with
the corresponding local regulations and requirements for electrical appli-
ances and packaging. Use separate collection facilities. Please contact
your local disposal company. The glass body of the kettle is manufactured of special-
purpose glass that may not be deposed of in a glass collection container. Splinters
of the glass body may be disposed of in domestic waste. The unbroken kettle is rated
as an electrical appliance.
When replacing old appliances with new once, the retailer is legally obligated to
take back your old appliance for disposal at least for free of charge.
