5. It is good advice to empty the kettle after use, to avoid excessive build-up of lime
deposits in the kettle.
NOTE
You may place the kettle onto the power base, when the kettle is not in use.
However, always unplug the power base, when the appliance is not in use.

SOLVING PROBLEMS

If any problems occur during operation, you will find solutions in this section.
Problem
Emergency stop required?
You cannot switch on the
kettle.
The appliance switches off,
before the water is boiling.

Reason
A heating cycle has been
just finished.
No connection to the
power supply.
The used power outlet is
not rated sufficiently. The
power supply fuses when
switching on the kettle.
A severe problem occur-
red.
Too little water in the
kettle.
The Solution
As an exception, immediately unplug the appliance.
The kettle is still hot. Let the kettle cool down for some
seconds. Then try again.
Check the following items:
Is the power plug connected correctly to the power outlet? The
pins of the power plug must be smooth and clean and without
discolourations.
Is the power outlet live?
Is the kettle placed on the power base correctly? Turn the kettle
a little. Check the electrical connectors for discolouration and corro-
sion. Do not attempt to operate the appliance with
the electrical connectors damaged in any way and/
or when your power supply fuses repeatedly!
Push the on/off switch upwards for switching off the
kettle. Unplug the appliance. Before operation,
always ensure that the power outlet is rated
for 16 A! Do not attempt to operate any other appli-
ance via this power outlet simultaneously. If in doubt,
contact your electrician. Do not attempt to operate
the appliance, when your power supply fuses
repeatedly!
Immediately unplug the appliance. Contact your vendor.
FIll the kettle with a sufficient amount of water (at least
0.5 litres; filling level "500 ml/MIN").
