BASIC OPERATION

Remote Control

When actuating a button, always direct the
remote control towards the sensor. There
must be no obstacles between remote
control and the sensor.

If the range of the remote control decreases,
the battery is probably exhausted and
must be replaced.

Switching On/Off

Switch on the CMP-2001 with the power
button.
• After a short initialization process (indication
"Welcome") the unit will automatically detect
if a CD is inserted (indication "Reading... ").
• If a CD is inserted, the display will shortly
indicate the total number of titles and the
total remain time followed by information
concerning the first title after the read-in.
• If no CD is inserted "No Disc" will be
displayed.

Prior to switching the unit off, always
terminate the playback with the button [►II]
or [ ]. Then switch off the unit with the
power button.
Do not switch off the power when the disc
holder is open. Never forcibly close the disc
holder when the power is off.

Selecting the Signal Source

After switching on, the CD drive is always
selected as the signal source. Press the SOURCE
SELECT button to switch to USB port 1 or 2.
• The unit must be in pause mode.
• The LEDs will verify which source is active.

Inserting a CD

To insert a CD, open the CD tray with the
button [ ].
• The display will show "Open".

Insert the CD with the lettering facing
upwards and close the CD tray again with
the button [ ].
• The display will show "Close".

Loading USB Devices

For the use of USB devices, USB port 1 is
provided at the front and USB port 2 at the
rear panel. Insert USB devices here.
• After the read-in (indication "Reading5"), the
total number of titles and folders will shortly
be indicated. Then information concerning
the first title will follow.
• If no device is inserted, "Please insert
memory device" will be displayed.
• If a data carrier is not recognized at the first
try, remove it and insert it again.

To remove a USB device, disconnect it from
the USB port.
• Prior to removing a USB device, set the unit
to pause. Otherwise damage or loss of data
may occur.

Selecting Titles and Folders

For browsing the titles, turn the press control
TRACK [
• Title number and title name (MP3 files only)
are indicated in the display.
• If you keep the control pressed while turning
it at the same time, you can jump 10 titles
forward or backward.

For browsing the folders, first press the
FOLDER [ ] button to activate the folder
selection mode. The adjacent control LED
lights up. Then turn the TRACK [
control to browse the folders.
• The folder number and name are indicated in
the display.
• If you keep the control pressed while turning
it at the same time, you can jump 10 folders
forward or backward.
• To switch back to the title selection mode
press the button FOLDER [
