• The digital jacks are compatible with PCM, Dolby Digital and
DTS signals.
• The OPTICAL IN jack is compatible with a digital signal that
has a 96 kHz or less sampling frequency.
• Press MD/CD-R to operate your CD or MD recorder. When
connecting the CD or MD recorder to both MD/CD-R jacks
and OPTICAL jacks and "* Input Mode" is set to "AUTO",
the OPTICAL jacks have priority over the MD/CD-R jacks.
See page 78, "Switching Input Modes".
VIDEO 1
• Use "* Input Assign" in the SET MENU to assign the
OPTICAL IN jack to VIDEO 1, VIDEO 2 ("VIDEO" on U.K.
and Europe models), VCR or MD/CD-R. The default setting is
MD/CD-R
MD/CD-R.
For example, when connecting your game console to the
OPTICAL IN jack, assign the OPTICAL IN jack to VIDEO 1,
and press VIDEO 1 to start operating the game console.
Notes for setting the OPTICAL IN jack and the
OPTICAL output signal
Set to MD/CD-R (default setting)
CinemaStation cannot output a signal to the OPTICAL OUT
jack even when inputting a signal from the OPTICAL IN jack.
Set to VIDEO 1, VIDEO 2 or VCR
CinemaStation outputs a signal to the OPTICAL OUT jack
when inputting a signal from the OPTICAL IN jack.
Notes
• U.K. and Europe models only have VIDEO instead of
VIDEO 1 and VIDEO 2.
• VIDEO is used as VIDEO 1 in above models.
For details about assigning OPTICAL IN jacks see page 89,
"Using the SET MENU".
• CinemaStation cannot output a signal to the MD/CD-R OUT
jacks even when receiving a signal from the MD/CD-R IN
jacks.
• CinemaStation's digital and analog signal circuits are
independent of each other, so analog input signals can only
output from analog output jacks and digital input signals can
only output from digital output jacks.
• CinemaStation's optical digital jack is designed based on EIA
standards. If you use an optical cable that does not meet EIA
standards, it may not function properly.
