2.2.3 Modes of use - Switching on and Adjusting
- Switching parent unit on/off and adjusting the
volume.
To switch the device on turn the volume control with
on/off function (2) anti-clockwise until you hear a click.
The same button (2) enables you to adjust the vol-
ume: turn anti-clockwise to increase it and clockwise
to lower it.
To switch the parent unit off turn button (2) clock-
wise until you hear a click.
- Indicator lights.
The luminous bar (3) includes:
- power and recharging indicator light (3.1):
a) steady red: the parent unit is on
a) steady green: the rechargeable batteries in the OFF
parent unit are being charged
c) OFF: the parent unit is off and rechargeable bat-
teries being charged via the mains adapter (1) are
fully charged.
- Light indicating sound levels emitted by the child
(3.2):
the 5 green LEDs gradually light up as the sounds
emitted by your child become stronger, enabling you
to monitor noise levels even when the parent unit
speaker is deactivated.
- Turning the Voice Activation function on and off.
The parent unit can function in continuous transmis-
sion mode or Voice Activation mode. You can select
Voice Activation mode by moving the switch (4) to ON.
When the level of noise detected by the baby unit
microphone (11) is lower than the threshold pre-es-
tablished by the manufacturer, the parent unit goes
into to stand-by, deactivating the video and audio.
In this case, if the volume of the parent unit is not
deactivated, only the acoustic flat battery and dis-
connection alarms will be audible.
The video and audio will reactivate if the baby unit
detects sounds that are above the threshold pre-es-
tablished by the manufacturer.
- "Speak with Me" function.
By holding down the button (8) it is possible to use
the parent unit microphone (11) to speak to your
child. To finish speaking release the button (8).
When this function is active it is not possible to hear
the sounds coming from the baby unit through the
parent unit.
WARNING: when using the 'Speak with me'
function do not get too close to the parent unit (11)
microphone when speaking as the sounds heard by
your child may be excessively loud.
WARNING: do not press the button (8) when
the two units are in the same room or within 3 me-
tres of each other as this may generate noises or rus-
tling sounds.
- Alarm indicating the absence or loss of the link with
baby unit.
Every time the link with the baby unit is absent or
lost an acoustic alarm will be heard. If the display (7)
of the parent unit is not in stand by because the voice
activation function has been turned on, the absent/
lost link screen will appear (9).
When the link with the baby unit has been restored,
the alarm is deactivated and, if the display (7) of the
parent unit is not in stand by because the voice ac-
tivation function has been turned on, the regular
audio and video signal will be restored in real time.
WARNING: to increase the operating distance
between the baby unit and the parent unit it is advis-
able to position the aerial (14) of the parent unit ver-
tically.
WARNING: in the event of the deactivation or
adjustment of the parent unit volume, the aforemen-
tioned acoustic alarm will also be deactivated or ad-
justed.
WARNING: the performance of the product may
be compromised if multiple monitoring devices are
used at the same time.
- Rechargeable batteries almost flat alarm.
An acoustic alarm sounds when rechargeable batter-
ies are about to run out of power, the battery icon
(5) on the display (7) begins flashing and turns red,
and the Parent Unit enters Stand-by mode: audio
and video are disabled with only indicator light 3.1
on with a red light.
If you wish to continue using the device, charge the
rechargeable batteries (13) by connecting the mains
adapter (1) to the parent unit power and charging
connector (5). The acoustic alarm will switch off
