FAULTS / SOLUTIONS

Below is a list of some of the causes and possible solutions to a series of problems that might be encountered
and could cause a failure to start or irregular burner operation.
The indicator inside the control box's reset button (1, fig. 1, page 2) lights when there is trouble, which in most
cases is an operating malfunction. When this indicator lights, burner operation can only be resumed after
pushing the reset button all the way in. If the burner then ignites correctly, the lockout can be attributed to a
temporary, non-hazardous fault. However, if lockout continues, you must determine the cause of the problem
and take the action illustrated in the solution column in the tables below.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

No power supply.
No gas.
Control box connections are wrong-
ly inserted.
Phase-neutral connection is inverted.
Earth connection non-existent or
ineffective.
Valve lets too little gas through
Gas valve is defective.
Electric ignition arc is irregular.
Ionization probe has a ground fault
or is not in contact with flame, or
there is a break in its wiring to con-
trol box, or there is a ground fault
due to its insulation being defective.
No gas.
Check for voltage at L1-N terminals in
7-pin plug.
Check state of fuses.
Check that safety thermostat is not
locked out.
Check gate opening.
Make sure that valve has changed
over to open position and that there
are no short circuits.
Check and insert plugs fully into
sockets.
Swap them over.
Make earth connection efficient.
Check supply grid pressure and/or ad-
just valve as indicated herein.
Replace.
Make sure connectors are inserted
properly.
Make sure electrode is in the right po-
sition as indicated herein.
Inspect quality of ceramic insulator.
Check right position and, if necessary,
adjust as indicated herein.
Restore electrical connection.
Replace faulty lead.
Check gate opening.
Make sure that valve has changed
over to open position and that there
are no short circuits.
