Preparing the balance for density determinations

This section describes how you can convert your balance in next to no time to determine densities. The
illustrations at the bottom of next page show the balance prepared for density measurements.
• Remove
– from 0.1 mg balances: the weighing pan and the draft shield element
– from 1 mg balances: the weighing pan and the weighing pan support
from the weighing chamber.

• Installing the compensation weight
– Small weight, color white (2) for 0.1 mg balances
– Large weight, chrome steel (3) for 1 mg balances
• Install as per the drawing. Fasten the respective compensation
weight (2 or 3) to the bracket (5) with the screw (4).

Note: Be sure to fasten the screw tightly enough
to ensure a good grounding contact.
