5.6.3.2 External effects
Requirements:
– The bus intended for the effect has been assigned to the analog
output (19) to which the effect unit is connected (
– The output of the effect unit has been connected to a line level input
of the mixer The input channel has been matched to the output
signal of the effect unit (
– The input channel for the effect signal has been assigned to the
channel to which the effect is to be added, e g the sum channel
(
 chapter 521)
– The input channels whose signals are to be provided with an effect
have been assigned to the specific bus with the setting "Post Fader"
(
 chapter 522)
1) Use the key BUS 1– 8 (8) to call up the channel overview for the
signal buses For the time being, adjust an average volume for the
mixed signal fed to the effect unit using the corresponding control
knob (10) for the specific bus The white bar graph at the bottom
of the channel strip and also the LED ring around the control knob
will indicate the current fader setting
2) Press the control knob of the bus or tap the corresponding channel
strip to select the bus The LED underneath the control knob will
light up
3) Press the key SENDS (8); it will be illuminated The key IN 1– 8 (8)
will also be illuminated now
4) Use the control knobs (10) to adjust the signal parts of the inputs
1– 8 for the effect Press the key IN 9 – 20 to go to the other input
channels and to adjust their signal parts if required
Note: The setting for picking up the signal is "Post Fader"; therefore, the
signal part adjusted also depends on the setting of the corresponding input
channel fader
5) To obtain an optimum level for the effect unit, press the key SENDS
again so that only the key Bus 1– 8 will be illuminated Use the
corresponding control knob to adjust the bus level
6) To adjust the overall volume for the effect, press the key IN 1– 8
or IN 9 – 20 to select the range for the input channel of the
effect signal Use the corresponding control knob (10) to adjust
the channel level

5.7 Effect processor

The mixer features an effect processor This effect processor offers
eight effect modules which can be inserted as desired into the input
channels, signal buses and the sum channel:
2 × modulation effects
2 × delay effects
2 × reverb effects
2 × graphic equalizers
One module each can be inserted into the analog input channels; two
modules can be inserted into the signal buses and the stereo sum It
is therefore recommended to insert an effect that is used for a single
input channel directly into this channel By contrast, effects to be
used for multiple input signals should be inserted into a signal bus
to which these input channels have been assigned The signal of this
bus will be mixed to the stereo sum together with the input signals

appear showing the location where it is currently being used In this case, de-
termine if a change to the new location is to be forced ("Yes") or not ("No") If
not, select the other module of the same type if required
To insert effect modules into signal buses or the sum channel and to
configure the effects:

To insert effect modules into a signal bus or the sum channel:
1) Tap  under "Busses" A list will appear Select a signal bus or the
sum channel from this list In both fields on the left of the list, the
modules currently inserted into this channel will appear
2) To add or change a module, tap the field The field will have a
yellow frame
3) Tap a module at the top to select the module to be inserted
Note: If this model is already being used at another location, a message will
appear showing the location where it is currently being used In this case,
determine if a change to the new location is to be forced ("Yes") or not ("No")
If not, select the other module of the same type if required
