using a hemostat, clamp the tubing of the
cuff to be replaced, 5cm above the cuff tubing
connector
use scissors to trim the cuff tubing length
squarely
Flush both pieces of tubing with sterile
solution
Hold the titanium connector from the center
and attach each tubing until achieve the
central reference of the connector (as
indicated in Figure 1).
detach the hemostat and check the right and
complete connection between the connector
and tubing (perfect fit). Confirm that there is
no loss of fluid in the joint. verify that there
is no kink in the tubing, either pre- or post-
connector.
squeeze the pump to empty the cuff
completely.
the cuff is placed around the urethra and
the tab is passed through the loop. using a
hemostat, the button is passed through the
hole to secure the cuff in position. the cuff
should not be tight (i.e., it should be able to
rotate freely around the urethra).
the perineal incisions can be closed and
dressed.

make a lower abdominal incision to find the
prB.
using a hemostat, clamp the tubing of the
prB to be replaced, 5cm above the prB
connector
use scissors to trim the prB tubing length
squarely

piece of tubing until the central reference of
the connector is achieved (as indicated in
Figure 1).
detach the hemostat and check for the proper
connection between the connector and
the tubing (perfect fit). Confirm that there is
no loss of fluid in the joint. verify that there
is no kink in the tubing, either pre- or post-
connector.
the abdominal incisions can be closed and
dressed.
CONTROL PUMP REPLACEMENT
make a lower abdominal incision to access
the pump to be replaced.
using two hemostat, clamp both pieces of
tubing of the control pump, 5cm above the top
of it.
use scissors to trim the pump tubing length
squarely.
Flush both pieces of tubing with sterile
