Inserting the Batteries

The battery of the remote control is a long-life lithium cell. If the range of the remo-
te control is reduced during use, please proceed as follows:
• Open the battery compartment (E) on the back of the remote control.
• Replace the cell by a battery of the same type. Ensure correct polarity).
• Then close the battery lid.
If the remote control is not going to be used for a prolonged period, please remove
the battery in order to prevent leaking of the battery acid.
Warning: batteries are not to be disposed of together with domestic wastes. Dis-
pose of the used batteries at the relevant collection bin or at your dealer's.
Never throw batteries into the fi re.

Transport Safety Device, CD Compartment
Open the CD compartment (15) by pulling the lid upwards by the tab (16). Before
operating the machine for the fi rst time, remove the transport safety device from
the CD player if it is still in place.
Switch-off
The machine is turned off when the function selector switch (1) is in the TAPE/
OFF position and all tape functions are switched off. Unplug the device.

Switches the unit to „ready for operation" or to „off".
You can set the desired volume using the VOLUME
control (3).
Insert the plug of a set of headphones into the head-
phone socket – the loudspeakers are „muted". If your
headphone plug does not fi t, please use a suitable
adapter.
Connect the loudspeakers to the connections (23) on
the rear.
For operating the music centre from a distance of up
to 5 metres without a lead. If the range of the remote
control is reduced, the batteries have to be replaced.
When operating the remote control ensure that there is
nothing blocking the view between the remote control
unit and the infrared receiver on the music centre.
