Major functions updated with V6.0
Compatible with Apple ProRes 4444
Apple ProRes 4444 has been added as a recording format that
can be recorded/played by attaching the dedicated option
CBK-55PD (sold separately).
Apple ProRes 4444 can be selected when the system frequency is
set to 23.98, 24.0, 25.0, or 29.97).
66FPS has been added to the "Frame Rate" in "S&Q Motion"
"66FPS" has been added to the available values in "Frame Rate"
when "S&Q Motion" is enabled and "High Frame Rate Mode" is set
to "Full Scan" or "Center Scan. "
Compatible with User 3D LUT when "S-Gamut/SLog2" is set
When "Color Space" in "Base Setting" of the System menu is set to
"S-Gamut/SLog2, " User 3D LUT can be used.
Note
When creating a CUBE file with Catalyst Browse and RAW Viewer,
make settings following the below method.
When using "Color Space" with "S-Gamut3.Cine/SLog3" or
"S-Gamut3/SLog3" set in the camcorder, set the "Source" (Catalyst
Browse) or "Input" (RAW Viewer) setting to "S-Gamut3.Cine/S-Log3, "
and when using "Color Space" with "S-Gamut2/SLog2" set in the
camcorder, set the "Source"/"Input" setting to "S-Gamut/S-Log2. "
Note that if you use a CUBE file created mistakenly with a
different setting, the color will not be correct.
About the ABB/APR action when selecting Apple ProRes
and Avid DNxHD®
It is corrected so that the camcorder does not restart after
performing ABB/APR while the recording format is set to ProRes
422 HQ, ProRes 422, DNxHD 220x, or DNxHD 145.

About the connection between the PMW-F55 and CA4000
by attaching the CBK-55PD
PMW-F55 attached with the dedicated option CBK-55PD (sold
separately) can be connected to the camera system adaptor
CA4000.

Compatible with Apple ProRes and Avid DNxHD®
The PMW-F55/F5 can record/play in Apple ProRes 422 (HQ),
Apple ProRes 422, Avid DNxHD 220x, and Avid DNxHD 145 by
attaching the dedicated option CBK-55PD (sold separately).
Notes
• While these formats are selected, the camcorder restarts after
performing ABB/APR.
• The camera system adaptor CA4000 cannot be attached to the
PMW-F55 with CBK-55PD installed.
Compatible with SStP SR-SQ 422 59.94i (PMW-F55 only)
The PMW-F55 is compatible with recording/playback in 59.94i
when the recording format is SStP SR-SQ 422.
The MPEG Proxy function is available simultaneously.
Compatible with the CBK-55BK
The PMW-F55/F5 is compatible with the dedicated option CBK-
55BK (sold separately). Attaching the accessory kit CBK-55BK to
the camcorder allows you to operate the camcorder in the
shoulder camcorder style, and you can use various audio input/
output connectors and direct switches.
Compatible with the 4K/QFHD recording for PMW-F5
By installing the dedicated option CBKZ-55FX (sold separately),
recording in XAVC 4096 × 2160P and XAVC 3840 × 2160P is
available for the PMW-F5.
The MPEG Proxy function is available simultaneously.
Compatible with White Memory A/B
White Memory, effective during Custom Mode is expanded to
Memory A and Memory B. The color temperature can be set for
Memory A and Memory B independently.
Compatible with the Interval Rec function
The PMW-F55/F5 is compatible with the Interval Rec function
that allows you to record frames specified at regular intervals.
The Interval Rec function is available for SxS Memory recording
when the recording format is set to XAVC 4096 × 2160P, XAVC
3840 × 2160P, XAVC 2048 × 1080P, or XAVC 1920 × 1080P, and
RAW recording (including simultaneous recording to an SxS
memory).
Compatible with the Noise Suppression setting of Cine EI
Mode
The "Noise Suppression" setting in the Camera menu is available
even if "Shooting Mode" in "Base Setting" of the System menu is
set to "Cine EI. " The default setting is "Off. "
Assignable functions for the assignable buttons are
expanded
"Color Bars, " "VF Focus Magnifier, " and "White Memory" (switching
between Memory A/B) are added to "Assignable Button. "
Compatible with FPS changing using the Menu dial
The frame rate during S&Q Motion can be selected from the 6
types at "Menu Dial Assign" in "Assignable Button" of the System
menu.
You can change the frame rate easily by pressing and turning the
Menu dial while shooting.
Major functions updated with V4.1
Viewfinder double speed drive function
This function is available when "S&Q Motion" is effective and
"Frame Rate" is set to more than 72FPS.
Monitor LUT can be applied for 4K/QFHD recording picture
"SDI(Main)&Internal Rec" in "Monitor LUT" of the Video menu can
be set to "MLUT On, " even if "Rec Format" of the System menu is
set to "XAVC 4096×2160P" or "XAVC 3840×2160P. " (In this case,
"SDI(Sub)&HDMI" and "Viewfinder" is locked to "MLUT On. " )
Assigned functions that can be assigned to the assignable
buttons are expanded
The "VF High Contrast" function that enhances the contrast of the
pictures on the viewfinder can be assigned.
By using this function, you can enhance the contrast of the
pictures contemporarily when displaying a low contrast picture
such as S-Log2 or S-Log3.
This function is set to off when the camcorder is restarted.
The default setting of "Color Space" in "Cine EI Mode" is
changed to "S-Gamut3.Cine/SLog3"
After performing All Reset, "Color Space" is set to "S-Gamut3.Cine/
SLog3" when "Shooting Mode" in "Base Setting" of the System
menu is set to "Cine EI. "
Improved the picture quality of high contrast pictures
When recording on an SxS memory, high contrast pictures
recorded with "Gamma" other than S-Log2/3 are improved to
make pictures more natural.
