To establish the electrical connection with single wiring
To perform single wiring, you need cables with the following connection:
W
Electrical connector form C, industry, Series CN1
O Connect the electrical connectors to the coils.
O Make sure that the seals have been inserted correctly.
Screw tightening torque: 0.4 +0.1 Nm
To establish the electrical connection with a bus coupler
When connecting with a bus coupler, please also refer to the assembly
instructions R412018134 and system descriptions (on CD R412018133).
1. Ensure that enough free space is left for the electrical connections so that the
permissible minimum bending radii are adhered to.
2. Make the following connections on the bus coupler:
– Fieldbus input X7xx (xx = fieldbus-dependent), integrated M12 socket/plug
– Fieldbus output X7xx (xx = fieldbus-dependent), integrated M12 socket/plug
– Ground connection
3. Also configure the required inputs and outputs on the connected I/O modules.
4. Connect the power supply for your bus coupler via the integrated M12 plug (X1S;
male, 4-pin, A-coded) to a suitable power source (24 V DC).
To establish the electrical connection with an IO-Link
1. Ensure that enough free space is left for the electrical connections so that the
permissible minimum bending radii are adhered to.
2. Connect your valve system with IO-Link master type B via the M12 integrated
plug (X7I1).

Commissioning and Operation

Commissioning may only be carried out by qualified electrical or pneumatic
personnel or an instructed person under the direction and supervision of
qualified personnel (also see separate sheet "Notes on Safety"
1
(R412015575), section "Personnel qualifications").
14
2
Step-by-step commissioning
15
Before commissioning the entire system, check each of the individual functions step-
by-step.
3
Step 1: Check fittings and connections
16
O Check all fittings and connections for a secure fit and seal before commissioning
4
the system.
17
Step 2: Check assignment of the control signals
5
When using spring return valves on base plates for double solenoid valves,
18
coil 12 must not be actuated; otherwise, a malfunction will occur.
6
O Only actuate valve 14.
19
1. Make sure that the system is not under voltage or pressure.
7
2. Switch on the operating voltage.
20
3. Check the assignment of the control signals to the valve positions.
8
The yellow LED is illuminated if the valve is being properly controlled.
For single wiring: Note the LED on the plug.
21
O If the LED is not illuminated, check the assignment of the control signal and valve
9
position.
22
Step 3: Check the pneumatic functions
10
1. Make sure that the system is not under voltage or pressure.
2. Make sure that all actuators are in their home positions and that there is no
23
danger from moving actuators.
11
CAUTION:
Before applying compressed air to the system, check the stability of the
24
compressed air connections and make sure that no personnel are within the
12
hazardous zone when the compressed air supply is switched on.
Before switching the system on, ensure that it is in a defined state.
25
3. Apply the compressed air to the system.
13
4. Check all of the connected valves using the manual override (see „Operating the
manual override").
Step 4: Switch on the system
Undefined system state
There is a danger of personal injury if the system is in an undefined state.
O Before switching the system on, ensure that it is in a defined state.
O Make sure that no personnel are within the hazardous zone when the
compressed air supply is switched on.
O Switch on the compressed air supply.
The service life of the circuit board will be reduced if the compressed air is
switched off
If the device is under voltage without any pressure, the pilot valves will be
permanently switched and heat up the circuit board. The service life will be
reduced as a result.
O Never operate the device for longer periods without compressed air.
Operating the manual override
Hot surfaces
Touching the valve coils during operating may lead to burns. The
device may have a hot surface under unfavorable operating conditions.
O Let the device cool off before disassembling it.
O Do not touch the device during operation.
The valve control's functional reliability and method of operation can be checked
before commissioning by activating the valve positions using the manual override
instead of the electrical signal. Voltage must not be applied to the valve when the
manual override is used.
Depending on the version, the valve has one or two manual overrides. Each side is
operated individually.
