The pump is switched off.
• Manual mode position:
The pump is in permanent operation as long as the
rocker switch is held in this position. When
released, the rocker switch automatically goes
back to position 0.
• Automatic mode position:
All functions of the pressure boosting system are
active.
Magnetic fault
A magnetic circuit breaker (Fig. 3 No. 2) protects
the motors from short circuits.
Thermal fault
The motor is protected from overloading by a
thermal overload relay (Fig. 3 No. 5).
6.3.2 Input (see Fig. 5)
1. and 2. Protection against low water level:
A pressure switch (normally open contact) or a
float switch protects the pressure boosting
system from low water; an On-Off input is
provided for this sensor.
The pressure boosting system is reactivated after
a delay of 5 seconds after the contact closes (low
water fault is no longer present).
6.3.3 Indicator lights (see Fig. 2)
Information from the pressure boosting system
1. Voltage On: Indicates that the mains voltage
is switched on (LED is lit yellow continuously)
5. Low water: Indicates that there is low water
(LED is lit red continuously)
Information from the pump
2. Pump switched on: Indicates that the pump is
operating (LED is lit green continuously)
3. Pump alarm: Indicates pump failure (LED is lit
red) when the thermal overload relay is trig-
gered (motor overload)

7 Installation and electrical connection

7.1 Installation site

Install the pressure boosting system in an easily
accessible, normally ventilated room protected
against freezing. Make sure that the pressure
boosting system can be transported through the
door of the room.
Provide enough space for maintenance work. The
system should be freely accessible from at least
two sides.
7.2

Installation

Position the system on a smooth, flat bearing sur-
face or on a concrete pedestal which is anchored
to the bearing surface below. Provide insulation
material (made of cork or reinforced rubber)
between the pedestal and the bearing surface to
prevent the transmission of flow noise.

7.3 Hydraulic connection

CAUTION! Risk of damage to the product!
Comply with the requirements of the water sup-
ply company and the applicable local regula-
tions.
• The suction/pressure pipes can be connected
either on the right or the left; seal off the unused
openings with threaded caps.
• Fit valves in the pipes so that the system can be
isolated from the mains if necessary.
• The system must always have at least one dia-
phragm pressure vessel with a capacity of 18 or
24bl installed on the pressure pipe (see Fig. 1); if its
capacity is greater, the vessel should be posi-
tioned next to the system.
• The existing pipes on site must be connected to
the system without any tension whatsoever.
• We recommend using expansion joints or flexible
connection hoses for this purpose, in order to pre-
vent tension in rigid connections and the trans-
mission of vibrations from the system to the
building.
Direct connection to municipal water supply
network
Check whether the system installed at the site is
able to withstand the maximum pressure of the
pump at zero flow plus the pressure of the munic-
ipal water supply network. If this is not the case,
install a pressure reducer at the output of the
pressure boosting system.
We strongly recommend fitting a pressure reducer
and a regulating valve in the inlet pipe of the pres-
sure boosting system in order to prevent pressure
fluctuations at the system's inlet.
Intake from break tank
Check whether the system installed at the site is
able to withstand the maximum pressure of the
pump at zero flow plus the pressure of the break
tank. If this is not the case, install a pressure
reducer at the output of the pressure boosting
system.
Suction operation from break tank
Make sure that the friction loss in the suction line
is not greater than the suction capacity of the
pumps (check the NPSH). We recommend install-
ing a foot valve with strainer with a pipe having a
diameter which is at least the nominal diameter of
the suction line or one size larger.

7.4 Electrical connection

DANGER! Danger of death!
Electrical connection must be carried out by an
electrician authorised by the local electricity
supply company and in accordance with the
applicable local regulations.
When carrying out electrical connection, the
installation and operating instructions and the
wiring diagrams provided must be followed. The
following general instructions apply:
