2 Safety
• Do not allow liquids, aggressive gases, inflammable media or glowing particles (smouldering nests or similar) to be
drawn in.
• Do not use or store the extraction system outdoors in wet conditions.
• It is not allowed to use the fume extraction system when welding oil-contaminated metals. Risk of fire!
• The 115 V/50 Hz/60 Hz or 230 V/50 Hz supply voltage must be protected by a 16 A fuse.
• If the power supply cable or device connection cables require replacement, only versions indicated by the manufacturer
must be used.
• When using the welding fume filter, the volume flow fed back into the work area must not exceed 50% of the supply air
for the installation area. In the case of natural ventilation, a supply air flow of one room volume per hour is to be
assumed. This corresponds to an air change rate of 1 per hour.

Example: When using an ABICOR BINZEL welding fume filter with a rated volume flow of 230 m³/h, the same
quantity of fresh air must be supplied. With natural ventilation, this is the case if the work area volume is at least 230 m³
(e.g. surface of 65 m² multiplied by room height of 3.5 m).
2.6 Safety instructions for the mains connection
NOTICE
• Make sure that the power supply cable is not damaged by being driven over, crushed, torn or similar.
• The mains connecting cable must be checked for damage and wear at regular intervals.
• The extraction system must only be operated if the power supply cable is undamaged.
• Only authorized personnel is allowed to replace the mains connecting cable and the mains plug.
(in Germany see TRBS 1203).
• Splash-water protection and mechanical stability must be ensured when replacing the mains plug on the power supply
cable.
• Always use an H07RN-F3G1.5 rubber cable when replacing the power supply cable.
2.7 Warning and notice signs
The product corresponds to welding fume separation class W3. The separation efficiency (according to DIN EN 15012-1)
of ≥99% can be safely fulfilled. The following warning and notice signs can be found on the product:

These markings must always be legible. They must not be covered, obscured, painted over or removed.
2.8 Emergency information
In the event of an emergency, immediately disconnect the following supplies:
• Electrical power supply
• Compressed-air supply
Further measures can be found in the power source operating instructions or the documents for further peripheral devices.
