First use

Before using the pressure cooker for the first time, we recommend
cleaning all the parts with hot water, soap and a soft scouring pad. Do
not wash the lid in the dishwasher.
Fill the pot with water up to 2/3 of its height.
• Close the pressure cooker (see previous page: Close).
• Place the cooker on the stove at maximum level and select the desired
cooking pressure.
• When the working valve indicator reaches the desired pressure and
the steaming begins you can reduce the heat to medium low level to
maintain a steady level of pressure.
• When 20 minutes have passed since the previous point occur, turn off
the heat completely.
• To depressurize the pressure cooker turn the Pressure Valve slowly and
incrementally to the release position. Steam will loudly escape from
the pressure cooker through the valve, so be careful to keep your hands
away from the top of the valve, or use an oven mitt for protection.
• To reduce the pressure quicker, you can cool down the pressure cooker
by pouring a small stream of cold water on the lid.
• Once the steam is completely released the Pressure Indicator is down,
and the Pressure Valve is no longer emitting steam, the lid is ready to
be removed.
• Wash and dry the cooker lid and body.

Start cooking

Before each use, verify that the operating valve is not obstructed.
Minimum fill
Always fill the cooker with a minimum quantity equivalent to ¼ of the
total capacity of the cooker (see ¼ mark inside the cooker).
Maximum fill
• Never fill the cooker body above 2/3 of its height, including food.
• In the case that you are going to cook foods that are slow cooking, such
as rice, dehydrated legumes or compotes, never fill the cooker body
above half of its height. Cook each food at the indicated pressure.
• Place the cooker on the stove at maximum level and select the desired
cooking pressure.
• When the working valve indicator reaches the desired cooking pressure
(check image*) and the steaming begins you can reduce the heat to
medium low level to maintain a steady level of pressure.
• In the event the pressure cooker has been heated without liquid inside,
contact the Monix after-sales service for verification.
If no steam leaves through the operating valve and no sound is
emitted while cooking:
• The pressure does not raise. This is normal during the first minutes
while cooking.
If this event persists, verify that:
• The heat source is sufficiently strong. If not, increase the heat.
• Verify that the quantity of liquid inside the pressure cooker is at least a
¼ of the total capacity of the cooker (see ¼ mark inside the cooker) .
• The operating valve is correctly placed, clean and free of residues.
• The pressure cooker is correctly closed.
• The silicone gasket and the pressure cooker's edges are not damaged.
