Cooking in the pressure cooker
SELECT LOW OR HIGH PRESSURE BY SETTING THE PRESSURE REGULATOR TO THE RELEVANT POSITION.
1. If you wish to cook at a low pressure, turn the pressure regulator to the position. Cooking at a low
pressure is ideal for economic cooking of meals; for example for cooking vegetables, fruits, fi sh, etc. (M)
2. If you wish to cook at a high pressure, set the pressure regulator to the
pressure is quicker and uses a higher temperature. It is suitable in particular for cooking meat and
meals that require longer thermal treatment. (N)
3. NOTICE: Set the pressure regulator exclusively to the prescribed positions for low and high pressures;
never leave it between these two positions.
4. Place the correctly fi lled and closed pressure cooker with the selected pressure onto heat set to the
highest output.
5. The indicator of the lock against accidental opening will slip upwards after a short while. This means
that pressure has been generated in the vessel and the pressure cooker can no longer be opened -
steam will begin to escape from the aperture in the pressure regulator after a while. (O)
6. When steam begins to escape from the aperture in the pressure regulator, reduce the heat output so
that only a small amount of steam escapes from the aperture in the pressure regulator.
7. After reaching the correct pressure, the GREEN CONTROL pressure indicator will slip upwards - one
white ring indicates reaching the optimum pressure inside the vessel for cooking at a low pressure,
two white rings indicate reaching the optimum pressure inside the vessel for cooking at a high
pressure.
8. Control the heat output during the entire cooking process so that you always see either one
complete or two complete white rings, depending on the pressure setting - low or high - chosen
for your cooking. Cooking in this way provides excellent taste and preserves the nutritional value of
the cooked meals, because cooking with the GREEN CONTROL system maintains optimal constant
pressure and signifi cantly economises on energy.
9. WARNING! If the GREEN CONTROL pressure indicator shows a red ring in addition to the
two white rings and the two green rings, the pressure in the vessel is higher than the
maximum permitted operating pressure (1.0 bar). In that case, immediately reduce the
heat output to minimum and make sure that the GREEN CONTROL pressure indicator
immediately slips downwards to the position corresponding to the set operating
pressure (one white ring for low pressure and two white rings for high pressure). If, even
after reducing heat output to minimum, the GREEN CONTROL pressure indicator fails
to slip downwards to the corresponding position and continues to show the red ring,
immediately turn off the heat source and remove the pressure cooker from the heat.
Leave it to cool down until the pressure in the vessel drops entirely and only then open
the pressure cooker again, clean it and, following the instructions for use, check all valves
and safety cut-outs for functioning.
10. Low/high pressure setting can be changed even while cooking. Be very cautious and use an oven
mitten when setting pressure!
WARNING! A MINUTE AMOUNT OF STEAM MAY ALSO ESCAPE BELOW THE HANDLE OF THE LID DURING THE
COOKING PROCESS.
