Overview

1 Take the DECT measurements and carry out site planning
2 Connect the devices to the local network (LAN)
3 Only COMfortel WS-500M: Set the device role "DECT
Manager and Integrator" on one device.
4 Bring the devices to the planned sites
Note: Take a note of the MAC address of the base
station on which the DECT Manager and Integrator are
enabled.
5 Log in to the Web configurator
6 Perform a firmware update
7 Configure the devices and register the mobile devices
You can do this in one of two different ways:
- Provisioning via the PBX
- Configure them manually using the Web Configurator on the
base unit

Planning Your DECT Network

A carefully planned DECT network is a prerequisite for high call quality and
adequate call capacity for all subscribers in all buildings and areas covered by
the PBX.
This is especially true for the successful operation of the COMfortel WS-500M
multi-cell system.
The document "COMfortel WS-500M Site Planning and Measurement Guide"
(which you can find in the Internet) contains information that will make it easier
for you to plan your DECT network. It describes the preparatory work that is
necessary for installation and describes how to take measurements, to enable
you to find the best possible position for your base stations.
You can use the COMfortel WS-500M Site Planning Kit (not included in the
scope of delivery) to measure the radio coverage and signal quality in your
DECT network.
