Connecting to the LAN

Note: The DECT Manager: and the base stations must be connected to
the same Ethernet or virtual LAN and use a shared broadcast domain.
If you want to use DECT-LAN synchronisation, note the requirements in
the "Advanced Information" instructions.
You can use a router, switch or hub to connect the devices to your local network.
A VoIP PBX is needed for Internet telephony. This PBX must be accessible over
the local network and have network access because the COMfortel WS-500S/
500M does not support NAT Traversal.
You need a PC that is connected to the local network if you want to use the Web
Configurator to configure the DECT Manager.
One Ethernet cable is needed for each device.
The COMfortel WS-500S/500M is supplied with power using PoE (Power over
Ethernet) if the device is connected to a PoE-capable Ethernet switch (PoE class
IEEE802.3af).
Note: If you are not using a PoE-capable Ethernet switch, you can order
a COMfortel PoE-100 or COMfortel PoE-1000 PoE adapter (
figure below) as an accessory.
