The gas inlet openings and gas outlet opening
must be protected against liquids and contami-
nation.
The water and dust filter must always be fitted
during operation.
Operational readiness:
The operational readiness consists of various phases, some of which run
simultaneously. Operational readiness is typically given after 10 minutes, as
the heat-up phase and temperature stabilisation are complete before the end
of the start-up phase.
Start-up phase
10 minutes
Used to stabilise the sensors and includes a
flushing phase at the end. After 10 minutes, the
start-up phase, incl. flushing phase, will be com-
pleted. The start-up phase runs automatically
after turning on the sensor unit.
Flushing phase
Typically 45 to 80 seconds
Used for flushing the gas chromatograph
between measurements, during the start-up
phase and after standby mode.
Heat-up phase
Typically 3 to 4 minutes
Used to bring a cold device to operating tem-
perature, and runs automatically after the sen-
sor unit is turned on and simultaneously with the
start-up phase.
Temperature stabilisation
Typically 2 to 3 minutes
Used to stabilise the operating temperature if it
was previously too low or too high (e.g. after the
heat-up phase).
Operating time
Typically 3 to 6 hours under normal conditions.
The operating time reduces at low tempera-
tures.
