1 ON / O FF B UTT ON
Use this button to switch the appliance on and off. Once you press the button,
●
the appliance is switched on and the button surrounds of the ON/OFF button and
the grinding function button (6) light up in white. The yellow temperature lamp
(2) lights up as well, indicating that the appliance is in the heating-up phase. Once
the machine has reached the temperature necessary for coffee extraction resp.
the steam / hot water function, the temperature lamp goes out and the appliance
is ready for use.
3 ST E A M F UNC TIO N BUTTO N
If you want to produce steam for steaming milk or heating liquids, press this
●
button to let steam escape from the swivelled-out steam wand. The temperature
lamp (2) lights up at the same time. Make sure that the temperature lamp (2) has
gone out before you press the steam button, only then the operating temperature
necessary for the steam function has been reached.
Press the steam button again to deactivate the steam function.

CAUTION: The coffee extraction button (4) must not be pushed in and activated if
you want to switch on the steam function. The steam function cannot be activated
while the coffee extraction button (4) is pushed in. Conversely, the machine cannot
grind resp. extract coffee if the steam button (3) is pushed in.

With this button, you can extract coffee or activate the hot water function once
●
the temperature lamp (2) has gone out. IMPORTANT: If the steam wand is swiv-
elled out and you press the coffee extraction button, the hot water function is
activated automatically and hot water flows out of the wand. Only if the steam /
hot water wand is in its original position, meaning when it is swivelled in, will the
machine brew coffee if the button (4) is pressed.
The coffee extraction resp. the hot water function stops if you press the button
●
again.
CAUTION: The steam function button (3) must not be pushed in and activated if
you want to switch on the hot water function resp. extract coffee. The hot water
function resp. coffee extraction cannot be activated while the steam function button
(3) is pushed in. Furthermore, it is not possible to start a grinding process with the
steam button (3) pushed in.
6 GRIN DIN G F UN CTI ON B UTTON
With this button, you can activate the grinding function. Adjust the grind size by
●
turning the bean container (20) (the grind size should only be adjusted while the
grinder is running) and the desired coffee amount with the control knob (7) before
starting. The grinding function stops automatically once the set amount of coffee
powder has been ground into the portafilter.
NOTE: The white button surround of the grinding function button always lights up
once you switch the appliance on with the ON/OFF button. However, the coffee
extraction (4) and steam (3) buttons must not be activated, meaning pushed in,
otherwise the grinding function does not work.

Use this control knob to adjust the amount of coffee you wish to grind. When the

set quantity has been ground, the grinding function stops automatically.
