Possible causes
• No electricity
• Motor, switch, or cable faulty
• Spindle locked or 24-step part
device locked
• Mains off
• Frequency converter switched off
• Workpiece unbalanced
• Workpiece clamped unstable
• Tool cutting edge dull
• Cutting pressure too high
• Workpiece eccentrically clamped
• Speed too high
• Pulleys sit loosely
• Machine stands on uneven ground
• Spindle bearings defective
• Motor bearings defective
• Knife support bar, tailstock or
headstock not securely locked
• Bearing defective
• Feed too great surface of work-
piece too rough
• Woodturning tool is dull
• Turning tool springs back
• Workpiece too big
• Poly-V belt sits loose

Possible solutions
• Check mains fuse
• Contact electrician
• Release locks
• Check mains fuse
• Wait about 10 minutes and then
switch on again
• Compensate unbalance,
reduce speed
• Improve clamping length or clam-
ping diameter, support tailstock
end, use bezel
• Sharpen tool or Exchange
• Reduce depth of cut or feed
• Clamp workpiece centrically
• Reduce speed
• Tighten pulleys
• Ground level off
• Check and if necessary exchange
