Information

When treating acute and chronic inflammation of the nasal sinuses (sinusitis)
with medication in aerosol form, special requirements are necessary for gen-
eration and application of the aerosol. The aim is to apply the medication
through the ostia (connections between main nasal cavity and nasal sinuses)
directly to its site of action, the nasal sinuses. To achieve this aim, the appli-
ance generates a "vibrating aerosol" that is conveyed more easily through the
ostia to the nasal sinuses. The advantage of such topical therapy over oral,
systemic application (e.g., in tablet form) is that less medication is required.
Thus it can be expected that there is a reduction in the occurrence of side
effects. This also moistens the mucous membranes of the nose.
If the PARI LC SPRINT SINUS nebuliser is rented to an end-user as part of
a PARI inhalation device, by a pharmacist for example, this is done on the
responsibility of the pharmacy involved and is not the responsibility of PARI
GmbH. We strongly advise users to follow the guidelines for preparing PARI
inhalation devices for re-use on a change in patients. These guidelines are
available upon request from PARI GmbH, or on the Internet at www.pari.de,
"For Pharmacists and Dealer" tab.
