This procedure is the quickest way to assemble the model correctly.
Practical tips:
If the exact assembly of a component cannot be clearly identified from the current drawing, look at the
drawings below. The vehicle is often shown from different perspectives, which can make the assembly of
different components more clear.
If required, the assembly instructions can also be downloaded as a PDF in our online shop, either under
product or in the download centre. Pages can then be enlarged on a monitor and details can be seen more
clearly.
Proceeding with the assembly
Assembly drawing 1:
When mounting the chassis frame, make sure that all components are properly assembled. The side members and
plastic parts can be easily mixed up and assembled the wrong way.
Assembly drawing 2:
Before assembling the components to be screwed from the outside, insert the plastic parts between the side mem-
bers. Make sure to use the round head screw to attach the front plastic part.
Assembly drawing 3:
When assembling the battery compartment, be sure to mount the different screws in the appropriate positions. The
screws differ not only in their length, the heads and drives are also different. The screws with the hexagonal drive are
the medium ones of the three M3 x 8 screws to be screwed in from the bottom.
Assembly drawing 4:
Because the crawler axles do not require differentials, the differential gear is screwed together with a continuous
aluminium hub.
The parts bag C-1-1 contains three washers (shims) of different thicknesses, which are used to adjust the backlash in
the next assembly stage. The gear teeth must be pointed inwards towards the centre of the component.
Assembly drawing 5:
Important!
Be sure to insert the main gear of the axle angle gear as shown in the sketch. The cardan shafts of the front
and rear axles run in different directions due to a reversing gear (see Figure 23).
For this reason, the main gear must be installed against the protrusions on the axle housing.
The tooth pitch between the main gear and bevel gear must be minimal and both gears must be easy to turn. If there
is too much play between the two gears, insert another shim or a thicker one. If a thinner shim is to be used, clamp
the gears.
Assembly drawing 6:
Apply some grease to the gears before closing the axle housing. Following the assembly, check that the gears are
running smoothly.
