Note
N.B.: The gear transmission switch can only be adjusted when the
position controller is open. Therefore check this setting before closing
the position controller.
In order to increase the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) in relation
to high frequency radiation, the housing is metal plated on the inside.
This shield is connected electrically conductive with the threaded
sockets shown in DM-figure 3–11, page 49.
Note that this protection can only be effective if you have connected at
least one of these sockets with grounded fittings by electrically
conductive (bare) add-on parts.
ATTENTION
To dissipate disturbance pulses, the position controller components
must be connected low ohmically to a potential equalization line
(ground potential).
See our grounding concept in figure 3-5.
The specified fail safety and spurious emission are only guaranteed
when the shield/grounding is fully effective.
When assembling the cable to the positioner 6DR59... note that the
following signal pairs (twisted pairs) must be formed to avoid chatter:
Out.-/Out.+ and In.-/In.+ and GND/POS and V_REF/GND.
Mounting the cable in the plastic housing
1. Insulate the cable as shown in figure 3-4.
2. Open the housing of the position controller by loosening the four
screws in the cover.
3. Push the prepared cable through the cable gland.
4. Screw the cable gland tight.
5. Connect the wires as shown in figure 3-6, page 18
