Safety instructions / Initial use
Every consumer is legally
obliged to dispose of batteries
in the proper manner!
Keep batteries away from child-
ren; do not throw batteries in the
fire, short-circuit batteries or take
them apart.
Avoid contact with the skin, eyes
or mucous membranes if fluid
has leaked from the batteries. In
the event of contact with battery
acid, thoroughly flush the affected
area with clean water and seek
immediate medical attention.
Remove the batteries from the
device if they have not been
used for a long period of time.
Remove spent batteries immedi-
ately from the device. There is
an increased risk of leaks!
If the above instructions are not
complied with, the batteries may
discharge themselves beyond
their end voltage. This poses a
risk of leaking. If the batteries
have leaked inside your product,
immediately remove batteries to
prevent product damage!

Initial use

Removing the insulation strip
from the batteries (scales)
Remove the battery insulation strip from the
battery compartment in the direction of the
arrow.
Or:
Open the battery compartment on the back of
the product by pressing the tab of the battery
cover
toward the battery compartment and

lifting it upward.
Remove the battery insulation strip. It is located
between the battery and the battery compart-
ment.
Reattach the battery cover
compartment. Be sure the two extensions on
the battery cover engage in the opening for
the battery cover. Press the battery cover onto
the battery compartment until you hear and
feel it lock into place.

Remove the battery insulation strip from the
battery compartment in the direction of the
arrow.
Or:
Remove the battery cover
compartment in the direction of the arrow.
Remove the battery insulation strip. It is located
between the battery and the battery compart-
ment.
Reattach the battery cover
compartment.
If the LC display does not appear to work,

check that the battery has been inserted cor-
rectly and reinsert it if necessary.
When you insert the battery, make sure that the
contacts do not get bent.
Follow the instructions for inserting the batteries
as described in the section on "Replacing the
batteries".
