Inserting the standard batteries

In order to insert the rechargeable standard
batteries in the handset, press on the top edge of
the battery compartment cover. Slide the battery
compartment cover downwards. Insert the
standard batteries, paying attention to correct
polarity. Close the battery compartment cover.
Use the rechargeable standard batteries supplied. When replacing batter-
ies, only use those of the type AAA 1.2V 750mAh. Other standard batteries
or rechargeable batteries could cause a short circuit.

Attaching the belt clip

Press the belt clip on the rear side of the handset at the top,
until it audibly snaps into place.

Charging the standard batteries

Place the handset, with its display facing the front, for at least 14 hours in the base
station or charging station. Failure to charge the batteries properly can lead to
telephone malfunction.
The rechargeable standard batteries in the handset have a maximum standby time of
120 hours at room temperature. The maximum talk time is 10 hours.

Tone or Pulse dialling mode

This future−oriented feature enables the telephone to be connected and used on both
analogue (pulse dialling) and digital (tone dialling) connections. The equipment is set
to TONE dialling (DTMF) at the factory. If the telephone does not work on your
telephone connection, refer to Chapter 13.2 to learn how to switch the telephone to
pulse dialling.
