4. Pressure test, filling and flushing the system
4.3 Ventilation
Improper ventilation will result in pressure loss and can cause
malfunctions in the solar energy system. The temperatures of
the leaking air and the heat transfer medium may be higher
than 140 °C (60 °C). Therefore, there is a risk of scalding.
The vent is located at the highest point of the system.
Once the system has been carefully and properly ventilated,
the system pressure must be increased to the operating pressure
again!
Occasionally vent the system, when it is operating, at the
permanent vent (option).
4.4 Draining
When draining the system, it must be ensured that the handles of the ball valves are set to 113 °F (45 °C) (cf. Section 3.1) before the
system is drained at its lowest point. The backflow preventers are opened in this position. Ensure that the pipe system is completely drai-
ned.. The heat carrier fluid should be collected in a suitable container and disposed of environmentally-friendly in compliance with the
instructions issued by the manufacturer of the heat carrier fluid.
Note: The system is generally under pressure! Danger of scalding!
