8. Functional check

8.1. Normal operation

An LED test is carried out immediately after switching on the MPM. The LED indicators on the
cover briefly switch on in turn. If the equipment is working normally, the [Power] and
[High Voltage] LEDs light up after 2 seconds.
Applicable only to MPM with remote control option (MPM-xxR): The LED [Remote]
indicates whether the remote on/off function is switched on via the I/O connector bus
(see also section 6).
The operation of the ionisation can be checked using the operation of the connected equipment
(consult the manual of the connected equipment).

8.2. [Power] LED flashes slowly (Biphase)

When the Biphase option is used (also see chapter 6.7) and the MPM is in the slave position,
the LED [Power] flashes slowly (once every 2 seconds). This indicates that the "Slave" MPM is
receiving a synchronisation signal from the "Master" MPM.

8.3. [Power] LED flashes quickly (fault indication)

The LED [Power] flashes quickly (twice a second) when the external 24 V DC output of the
MPM is overloaded. The external 24 V DC voltage switches off in this situation. The external 24
V DC power will switch on every 2 seconds and switch off again until the overload or short-
circuit is rectified. The LED [Power] also flashes quickly when an internal fault occurs in the
MPM. The high-voltage output of the MPM remains active in this situation.

8.4. Overload LED is on (fault indication)

The LED [Overload] lights up when the high-voltage output of the MPM is short-circuited or
overloaded.. At this point, the output current is more than 3 mA. If there is a short-circuit or
overloading, the high voltage switches off. The high voltage will switch on every 2 seconds and
switch off again until the overload/short circuit is rectified. The [Overload] LED also lights up if
the MPM overheats internally.

9. Maintenance

Warning:
- Disconnect the power supply before carrying out work on the unit.
The MPM does not contain any parts that require regular maintenance.
- Keep the MPM dry and free of dust, dirt and chemicals.
- Regularly check the earthing of the MPM.
- Regularly check the connection cables for damage.
