6. MPM options

Warning:
- The electrical installation must be carried out by a skilled electrical engineer with the
relevant training and qualifications.
- Disconnect the power supply before carrying out work on the unit.

6.1. Connecting the remote control cable (MPM-xxR)

The remote control option can only be used if the MPM is equipped with an I/O connector. The
MPM with remote control functionality offers the following functions:
- Remote switching on/off of high voltage.
- "High voltage ON" remote signalling.
- "Overload" remote signalling.
- External 24 V DC power supply, max. 100 mA.
- Ion balance control.
- Biphase control.
All remote control functions are operated via a cable to the I/O connector on the back of the
MPM (figure 6 and appendix 1). The remote control options only work if the MPM is on. A
number of options can be used simultaneously.
Fit the optional I/O connector (cable part) with a low-voltage cable (ø3–7 mm,
outside diameter of cable) or use the optional I/O cable.

6.2. Switching high voltage on/off remotely

The high voltage on the output is switched on or off remotely with the remote on/off function. To
remotely switch the high voltage on/off function dipswitch 1 must be switched to the [ON]
position. To switch dipswitch 1, the MPM cover must be temporarily removed (Figure 3). The
LED [Remote] lights up to show that this function is switched on.
To obtain high voltage on the output, 10–30 V DC must be supplied at the "High voltage
ON/OFF input" of the I/O connector. A 24 V DC external power source can be used, or the 24 V
DC present on the I/O connector (see section 6.5).
