Use as a mulch mower
This lawn tractor can be used both as a mulch mower and as a lawn
tractor with a lateral discharge function.
What is mulching?
The specially shaped mower blades cut the grass, shred it into a fine
grassy mass and blow it back onto the grass to decompose. This means
that the cuttings do not need to be collected. Mulching is therefore dis-
posal of the cuttings and fertiliser during one session of work. The mulch
layer protects the ground from drying out and also provides it with nutri-
ents.
Information and tips on mulch mowing
As in normal mowing, a sharp blade is a prerequisite for mulching. The
grass to be cut should not be higher than 8 cm. The best results during
mulch mowing are achieved by regular cutting back by about 2 cm,
from 6 cm to 4 cm. More frequent mowing may therefore be necessary
compared with traditional forms of mowing because only young grass
with soft leaf tissue decomposes quickly. This is why grass should not
be mowed under 4 cm. Mulch mowing is particularly recommended
during the summer months.
Adjusting the speed of the mower for mulching
Select the speed for normal grass/the weekly cut and set the maximum
engine speed so that the mowing blade can shred the grass in an opti-
mal manner.
