8. Initial Operation

Take note of the safety instructions in chapter 5 and all other instructions specific to mounting
etc. contained in this operating manual.
• Switch off the garden pump (switch position "O" = "OFF").
• If not done, connect the suction and pressure hose as described in chapter 7.

If there is a large inlet lift to the pump, it is recommended to fill the suction hose before operation.
The latter must of course be equipped with a non-return valve.
Thus, you facilitate and speed up the suction operation of the garden pump. Fill with clean, cold and
clear water only.
• Fill the garden pump with clean, cold and clear water only as well. There is a filling opening on the upper side of
the pump for this purpose (of course you can fill the garden pump using the large fitting for the pressure hose before
attaching it instead of the small filling opening).
• Make sure that all hose connections are tightened properly.
• Plug the mains plug into a mains socket with earth connector.
• Switch the garden pump on, place the mains switch of the garden pump in the "I" position (= "ON").
The garden pump starts working immediately.
The pump is self-priming, however, the operation can take some time with larger suction lift heights (1-
2 minutes, then switch the pump off and let it cool down!).
As described in the beginning of the manual, we recommend the use of a non-return valve and the filling
of the suction hose and garden pump with water. This accelerates the suction operation.
If necessary, open the spray valve on the garden hose to allow excess pressure/air to escape.
• Pumping water cools the pump at the same time. The garden pump is nevertheless not suitable for continuous use.
We recommend switching the garden pump after 60 minutes at the most and allow it to cool completely before it
is used again.
